MOCA Sunday Stories

February 6, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Free
A reading of The ABCs of Black History by Rio Cortez and Lauren Semmer followed by an art project.

In honor of Black History Month, MOCA Sunday Stories will be reading The ABCs of Black History by Rio Cortez and Lauren Semmer. Letter by letter, The ABCs of Black History spans continents and centuries, triumph and heartbreak, creativity and joy. After the reading, participants will create a collaborative collage using their hands to create paper stencils. Everyone will get a piece to take home.

Join MOCA on the first Sunday of every month for MOCA Sunday Stories for storytime, followed by a DIY early childhood art project. Sponsored by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, this early childhood program engages toddlers and fosters reading, motor skill development and socialization. MOCA Sunday Stories is also a great way for children to bond with their parents or guardians as they create together.
